Privacy Policy

TabMind is a Chrome extension that asks why you opened a tab and reminds you later. This page explains, plainly, what it stores and what it does with it. The short version: everything stays on your device, and nothing is ever sent anywhere.
What TabMind stores
When you type a reason for a tab, TabMind saves three things, locally, using Chrome's
built-in chrome.storage.local API:
- The reason text you typed (up to 300 characters)
- The time you saved that reason
- The time the tab itself was opened
It also stores your own preferences — whether the reason and timer pills are shown, the pill's opacity, and how often you want to be reminded.
None of this data ever leaves your browser. TabMind has no server, makes no network requests, includes no analytics or tracking libraries, and does not use cookies.
Permissions, and why each one is needed
| Permission | What it's used for |
|---|---|
storage |
Saves your reasons and settings locally on your device, so they survive a browser restart. |
alarms |
Schedules the periodic reminder without keeping TabMind's background process running continuously. |
notifications |
Shows the reminder itself, using Chrome's native notification system. |
TabMind does not request access to your browsing history, tab URLs, page content, or any other site data.
How long data is kept
A tab's saved reason is automatically deleted the moment that tab is closed. Uninstalling the extension removes everything TabMind ever stored, since it all lives in Chrome's local storage for the extension and nowhere else.
Third parties
TabMind does not share data with anyone, because it does not collect or transmit data in the first place. There are no third-party SDKs, ad networks, or analytics services in this extension.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above will change with it. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
